Here is an example of CCSS - Reading Foundational Skills - 4th Grade
3. Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words.
a. Use combined knowledge of all letter-sound correspondences, syllabication patterns, and morphology (eg. Roots and affixes) to read accurately unfamiliar multisyllabic words in context and out of context.

en = to cause (enrich)
centi = hundred (centimeter)
anti = against (antifreeze)
intra = within (intramurals)
Teach these and other prefixes to aid in understanding long word decoding. Students can find/generate words with these prefixes and determine meaning to aid in "long word decoding" / "structural analysis".
